The good young people of Rochdale borough

As a very busy weekend draws to a close, with most leaflets delivered, many good wishes for the election this week, which are always heart-warming, from people out on the streets. I decided to relax by watching a DVD given to me by my friend Quizmaster Andy Kelly.
Andy runs a very enjoyable Quiz Night at the Sandbrook each Thursday 9.00pm. (that’s the advert) and is also a Producer/Director with Whitworth Amateur Musical and Drama Society, a man of many talents. However, Andy played a supporting role as compere on this DVD.
The stars were the extremely talented young people of Rochdale who make the up the Rochdale Borough Youth Band. They showed just what our many good young people are all about when they won the North West Youth Entertainment Championship at the Winter Gardens Blackpool. It was most enjoyable to watch and to listen to, fine talented musicians who were obviously enjoying what they were doing and giving enjoyment to their audience.
All of us in the Borough can be proud of these young people, the people that coach and train them, and their parents who support them to achieve so much.
These are the true young people of Rochdale that we should support and celebrate their talent and hard work.
