It's been a busy few weeks but I am happy to welcome Dorren Brophy-Lee as a colleague and Heywood North Councillor. The campaign was a busy one and close - I blame the fact that Jean Hornby was Mayor and her increased profile. She is not a very good campaigner or Councillor BUT was an excellent Mayor.
I was a little concerned with some of the propaganda from Labour - but it obviously worked. With the Modernisation of Adult Care for example. It managed to swing Father Daly's vote, what he didn't know was that former Councillor Hornby voted FOR it last year.
I was obviously glad when the Hornets and the Football Club got the "Freedom of the Borough" Private Eye have accused us of doing it to "win votes" This is simply not true and it has been discussed for a year.
