Get the whites on - It's Wimbledon!

Yes, I am dissapointed that Tim Henman has gone - Same Old Story I am afraid.  Galiant I am afraid - Beaten in 5 sets!  Luckily in Local Government we have more more tham 5 sets.

I used to have a go at tennis - bought the best racket, shorts (not Andre Agassi's) and best T-Shirt.  I was better at Rugby League!!!  Sport is like politics though and I think that you should never give up.

I was keen to test this theory - I was contacted by a Heywood Resident; after I won in 4 sets aginst Nick Maher in Heywood.  The resident said that in Heywood they have been after improvements to our tennis courts for years.  I said I'LL SORT IT.  15 - LOVE!

Contacted the Council - they said they would look at the problem - 15-15 ALL!  I contacted Wera Hobhouse - 30-15 and she said she would look at the problem.  You see we have enough of broken promises from the Labour Council - 30-30!

Wera said she'll talk to Alan Taylor but advised me that it would be hard - 30-40 GAME POINT TO THEM!  Frustrated I had a meeting with Alan Taylor - DEUCE!  We need to see investment in our parks, especially Queens Park - to give us Green Flag Status!  ADVANTAGE RUSHIE!

I was delighted this week to see the work finish - GAME, SET AND MATCH - RUSHIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy Murray might not  have played Wimbledon, Henman might have lost before the first week but we can have first class tennis on the parks of Heywood!

I challenge Father Paul Daly to a match - Whatever happens it feels like an ACE for Heywood!

Rushie
