The Kingsway Partnership

I feel priviledged to have been present at the recent update on  progress of the Kingsway development last Friday.

The  work exhibited by pupils from Lowerplace and St. Peter's Primary Schools was a joy. The content and quality were evidence of the involvement and enjoyment experienced from working on this first hand experience.

The theme 'Stay out, stay safe' was the starting point for two sketches from Sprinhill. The confidence and skills expressed in getting the message across were exceptional.

Working from a real life situation gave this performance  real meaning.

This work will be performed at  primary and high school level across the borough and cannot fail to raise awareness of youngsters and help them realise the dangers in and around building sites.

The film made by the group also had a chilling impact and makes a relevant contribution to health and safety connected to such developments. As Andy said this should be put on the market!!

The staff of those schools obviously saw the value in making learning relevant and meaningful. It really did show.

The other good news of the day came from John Hudson and Andy Zuntz. The Kingsway Partnership and project are progressing well and in the not too distant future will positively address local unemplyment by creating massive employment opportunities locally.
