Conservatives Continue The Health Campaign

This morning I have received a letter from the Leader of the Conservative Party, David Cameron MP. fully supporting our concerns and dismay of proposed cuts to Accident and Emergency and Maternity services in Rochdale.

He is calling on Gordon Brown MP. to put these cuts on hold unless, or until, he can produce the clinical evidence to justify them rather than just a cost cutting exercise.

It was disappointing that the Lib-Dem’s chose to ‘spin’ inaccurate information on what David Cameron had said on hospital closures.

David Cameron and the Rochdale Conservative Party are committed to keeping services in Rochdale. and as soon as the announcement was confirmed to cut services the Conservative Party was quick to condemn the government on Rochdale’s behalf.

I shall continue to bring health issues in Rochdale to the Conservative Health Team in Parliament; we need to have influence with people in positions of power. It is, after all, only the Conservatives that could replace Labour at the next general election, and influence now may bring results later.  Influence is something we badly need.
