Another bad week for the Lib Dems!

Last Thursday at the By-Election in Middleton North the Liberal Democrats failed to win this seat from Labour. This despite all the bad publicity affecting the Labour Party centrally at the moment and after the Lib-Dems delivering a staggering 14 leaflets! by shipping people in from other areas and not surprisingly, as so often is the case, producing inaccurate, misleading and perhaps illegal leaflets.
They are now accountable being in control of the Council and no amount of ‘spin’ can hide the reality. This being the dreadful management of Adult Care, the loss of a good Home Care Service, the Councils finances being in disarray, and even the Finance Portfolio Holder, Councillor William Hobhouse, being forced to resign due to his irresponsible and unacceptable behaviour.
I will not succumb to a ‘spin machine’ like the Lib-Dems. The result for us was poor despite the hard work by our team. We have a new energetic team who are determined to improve Conservative fortunes in Heywood and Middleton and push the Lib-Dems back into 3rd place where they belong.
The Lib-Dems record in running the Council with all the ‘spin’ is now plain for all voters to see. The public who vote would be well advised to review the facts rather than take notice of the deluge of inaccurate and misleading leaflets that the Lib-Dems pour through your doors at election times.
