We have listened Ashley

I have not put a Coucillor Diary on Rochdale Online this year but I do know that Heywood PP is missing me.
My wife June is Church Warden at St Thomas Newhey and I have been supporting her following the fire which outraged all the decent peolpe of Newhey and Milnrow.
I have be keeping abreast of events on Rochdale Online News http://www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/News/news.asp?ID=5669 and working with my Cabinet collleagues on the new 2008/2009 Budget. Which will see an 11 year lowest rise in Coucil Tax, and thanks to a larger than expected settlement from Central Government, which we have lobbied for for years, some money to invest in the Borough.
We are not going to give this money away, as suggested by Labour, when it is badly needed, as Ashley Dearnley says, to clean our streets and environment in general.
We approved, at Cabinet last night, a signficant number of investments in the Borough, one of which is an automated hand held street cleaning machine operated by a man who also has a brush!
No looking back from the Lib Dems, Ashley!
