Thank you Nordeners

Well, in parts of Norden we have had our first Blue and Green Recycling wheelie bin experience. It was a very windy morning and much plastic mess was being blown around in the Village and surrounding estates. However the good folk of Norden went round picking up many of the blown over bins and flying rubbish and blue bags and by 9 o'clock things were restored to near normality. I hope the collectors appreciate the villagers' efforts and certainly as inhabitants we do!
Is there a lesson? Many areas must have already experienced what we had this morning so what do they think? Heavier bases for the bins perhaps, or if there is space put the blue bag inside the bin rather than beside it? Or just rely on good neighbourliness to restore things before the refuse collectors get there?
