Is this a welcome u-turn on secrecy?

The Leader of the Council, Alan Taylor, says that the report into Boroughwide Housing was always going to be made public, and accuses me of getting my facts wrong in demanding that the report must be made public.

The facts quite clearly prove that it was not the original intention to go public with this report. The terms of reference of the original document clearly state that the report would remain confidential.

Once again the Leader either did not know what was going on ... or worse wanted to wrongly accuse me. However, I am happy to be accused of wanting the public, and most importantly, our council tenants to know the contents of the report, and I am grateful to Rochdale Online, the Leader of the Labour Group, Allen Brett, and our MP, Paul Rowen for also demanding publication of the report as opposed to secrecy.

An apology from the Leader of the Council, Alan Taylor, who clearly got his facts wrong, would not come amiss but I guess that is too much to expect.
