Simon Hughes - Magic!

I would like to express my thanks to my good friend Simon Hughes who once again chose Heywood for his visit.

Simon's eyes were opened in disgust at the closure of our Post Office. He sympathised with us and tells us not to give up the fighting. Our next big campaign is to stop Labour’s closure of the Post Office Card Accounts and Simon has given us his full support in this cause.

On a better note, Simon commented that our Magic market was a real credit to Heywood. He commended the vibrancy of the place and commented on the quality of goods that were on offer. He was also pleased to see of the PCSOs who, on that day, were working on the safe plate scheme. He outlined to us that PCSOs have a very important role in our community and the safe plate scheme was a good example of this.

On previous visits Simon has taken time to go and visit the residents of one of our sheltered housing accommodation schemes, Roeacre Court. He asked me to send on his best wishes to them all.

Thanks for coming Simon!
