Another extraordinary mess

So Liberal Democrat councillors call in a decision made by the Liberal Democrat run Rochdale Township. What message does that send out to the people of Rochdale?
One of the arguments of the Call-in was that councillors weren't aware of what the decision was all about. Excuse me?
We discussed the issue in full detail and everyone stated very clearly why they supported putting money towards the Rochdale Feel Good Festival, or not.
Everybody who supported it was clear that the Feel Good Festival was a positive contribution towards revitalising our town in very difficult times.
So there could be a hundred better things to spend the money on?
Could someone name one better thing than supporting the business community in the Town Centre and bring in hundreds of people to Rochdale and put Rochdale firmly on the map for £35,000?
I have lived in this Town for 10 years now and I have seen it go down the hill exactly because of the negative attitude that seems to prevail amongst some people who do not see a good thing when it hits them.
Quite apart from our local businesses, many of our local performers like all our Primary School choirs, Rochdale Music Service Brass bands, the budding young musicians who perform at Backdoor Music, Skylight Circus all of whom have been rehearsing and looking forward to this event will feel badly let down and wonder what on earth is going on.
Should bringing the Feel Good Festival down, as some councillors clearly intend to do, be one of the many missed opportunities that people of Rochdale had to suffer from for so long?
