Many congratulations to Sue Verity for becoming Rochdale Woman of the Year 2009! I couldn't think of a more charming and dedicated winner! We have known Sue for several years now since our two younger children started to play in the junior section of Rochdale Youth Orchestra in 2003. She has been an inspiration not only for the hundreds of young people playing in the orchestra but just as much for the parents who have watched their children thrive and develop a love of playing and performing. The once a term performances of Rochdale Youth Orchestra are always a highlight and we haven't missed a single one - Sue Verity leading the procedures in her trademark calm and professional way. She has been tireless in finding financial and musical supporters. Music in Rochdale wouldn't be the same without Sue Verity and I am glad to see that the town has given her this well deserved recognition.
