It’s Never Black and White. Or is it?

Last night, the Council took the decision (AGAIN) to secure one member one vote for all councillors across our borough.
Leader of the Labour Party, Councillor Colin Lambert, did his party a real injustice last night with a weak speech that lacked any real substance. This only helped confirm for me that what I was voting for was the right thing to do.
I found it comical when Councillor Susan Emmott stated that Hopwood Hall Councillors had worn black to signify mourning about the “loss” of democracy in their ward when she herself was wearing a white blouse.
I hope that both Heywood and Middleton Townships will now adhere to the decision so that democracy can continue to thrive throughout our Borough.
