How much money has our council wasted?

Now that the planning application to build a golf course on Springfield Park and deprive people of recreational facilities has been dropped, our Liberal Democrat-run Council must come clean on how much money they have wasted on this folly.
It is clear that there is a lot of public anger at how local people have been treated while the Council and Link4Life tried to force these plans through. I hope they will now be told how much public money has been wasted on expensive consultancy rates, fees for drawing up plans of how the site would look, officer time, the planning process and of course the 'vison day'.
Last year the Lib Dems wasted hundreds of thousands of pounds on a farcical town centre development selection process that had to be abandoned. No doubt they will have wasted another exorbitant amount on their latest regeneration fiasco. At a time when the Lib Dems are planning cuts to frontline services this is hard to swallow.
