Lets get on with it!

Weeks have passed now since the elections and although for some of us very disappointing results as hard as it is we have to carry on and continue to work hard all year round for the area we represent love and live in.

I am passionate about my role and try hard to solve many problems unfortunately sometimes certain issues just can’t be solved such as parking problems on certain estates even though huge amounts of money and schemes have already been put into place there will still always be a problem and no more money or additional schemes will ever sort these problems out because of the growing number of cars per household, yet it is still seen as my fault?

People walking dogs and not picking up their “poo” is my fault?

Children playing football in the street, is my fault?
But I accept all of these concerns because I chose to become a Councillor.

This year is going to be very different and more difficult because of the government coalition and Rochdale’s coalition with the Lib-Con but I personally think it will benefit everyone, we are here to put our beautiful Borough back to what it was and together with trust and hard work we will do it.

For the last 3 years I have chaired the Pennines Township which I have loved as every meeting has been a challenge but this year have I decided to go for Chair of Health Overview & Scrutiny as I think we have many issues in the borough that needs to be scrutinised regarding the loss of our hospital services and I will leave no stone unturned!

So a very different and challenging year ahead!
