My reasons to leave.

It was with deep sadness and many sleepless nights that I decided to leave  the Liberal Democrats and join the Conservative Party, It was a very difficult decision one I had been thinking deeply about for the last 12  months and I could not go through another election with so many doubts in my mind.

The last 12 months have been difficult for all 3 parties with the Lib Dems suffering the worst and I feel it is going to be many years before they can recover which the Rochdale Borough just can't wait for, We need to see improvements in our Town as soon as possible with leadership and joint parties working together to achieve a positive outcome for our wonderful Town.

I know some people will say why didn't I resign altogether or why did I choose to join the Conservatives,I really feel Ashley Dearnley and his team do have that serious attitude to put this borough before political gain and power and I know that I still have a lot to offer and will continue to working hard with passion for Smallbridge & Firgrove also for the Borough.

Health will always be my goal and I will continue  to make our voices heard at the outrageous loss of services at the Rochdale Infirmary & Fairfield which will always remain non-political in my heart regardless  and I will Never give up fighting for what I believe in.

My personsal priorities are for local issues which are affecting all of us with these cutbacks forced on us by the mistakes of the last Government and monies lost nationally for which we are all now suffering and relying on far to many voluntary organisations take over and run.

I want the best for our Borough and for the ward I represent and have lived in for the last 58 years, but I want results now not in years to come and I feel the only way I can achieve it is to move forward and join a party with the same ambitions I feel at a local level which is to put"People before politics an absolute priority" and to work together to bring back pride & hope to our wonderful Town and our  marvelous community workers.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me over the years and hope you will continue to support me in the future.

I have gone with no poilitical fall out from anyone but myself.
