Local Election 2016

Peter Clegg

Peter Clegg

Liberal Democrat Party
Bamford Ward

I'm delighted to be standing for the area in which I live.

I am a retired bank courier and spent six years in the Lancashire Fusiliers and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

I previously served eight years on Rochdale Council as the elected member for the old wards of Brimrod and Spotland.

I am married to Hilary and have one daughter Margaret.

I have lived in this area for almost 35 years and I am a keen golfer and dog walker.

I am proud to be the president of the Fusiliers Association in Rochdale and many people know me as an active member of the British Legion.

I have believe I have the experience, reliability and dedication to be an excellent councillor.

In my previous terms on your council I served on a range of committees including the Fire Authority and the Manchester Airport Authority and chaired planning on the Rochdale Township for two years.

I believe that any councillor should be there to help local people. I have a track record of delivery for local people - especially when it comes to case work.

My priorities include keeping the environment clean and green, making road improvements to potholes, resurfacing and repainting, providing support for local business and making sure Bamford gets it fair share of funding.
