Local Election 2008

Barbara Todd

Liberal Democrat Party
Spotland & Falinge Ward

Address
45 Greave Avenue
Rochdale
OL11 5EN

I am asking the people of Spotland and Falinge to back me on 1 May. I have been a Councillor here for 10 years and in that time I have had the privilege of working alongside people like Norman Smith MBE, Sir Cyril Smith MBE, Paul Rowen MP and my colleagues Peter Clegg and Greg Couzens.

As well as being your local councillor, I also represent our Borough on the Greater Manchester Police Authority. My main achievement this year was helping to guarantee more police on the beat for our area. This year we have put an extra officer in every Township area and we hope to extend this scheme next year. I have also campaigned against lead thefts, against anti-social behaviour and much more.

I am pleased that yet again the Liberal Democrats are campaigning on the issues that matter to you – the people of our area.

I have lived on Greave for over three decades now and no one is prouder of our area than me. Over the years I have been involved in many campaigns such as the fight against the closure of our library, the fight to solve match-day parking at Spotland Stadium, the fight against reopening Ding Quarry and many more.

I pride myself on always being available for my fellow local residents and I hope that this May you will give me the chance to continue to work hard for you.
