Local Election 2011

Ted Flynn

Independent Alliance
Castleton Ward

I’m Councillor Ted Flynn and I’ve been privileged to represent Castleton Ward for the past 17 years.

In December last year, I along with others, broke away from the Liberal Democrats and formed a new Independent Alliance Party, giving me the freedom to vote for common sense.

I am proud to be standing for re-election as an Independent as I have become increasingly disillusioned with the main political Parties.

My commitment to Castleton has never been in doubt and I hope to continue to serve all the residents with the same consideration.

I was Cabinet member for Community Safety and Leisure for two years, I presently chair the Rochdale Township Planning Sub Committee and I’m a keen member of the Action & Resources Committee, which has been responsible for the footpath resurfacing of Hanover and Ash Streets and future traffic calming measures on Manley Road and Royle Road.

I also serve on the governing bodies of Matthew Moss High School and Thornham St. Johns C of E Primary School.

I have a wealth of experience as a Council member and an even greater knowledge of Castleton’s problems many of which are finally being addressed through the long overdue regeneration of the village. Outline planning permission has been granted for Whipp’s and Woolworth’s sites

Castleton’s on the move and steam is coming!

It is my dearest wish to continue to represent the people of Castleton for a further four years and if you will put your trust in me, I will not let you down.
