It has been my privilege to have been one of your councillors for the last 13 years.
During that time there have been many improvements in our area. Many of our roads have been resurfaced or repaired such as Barnes Meadows, Shore Road, part of Todmordon Road, Brown Lodge Street etc. Our recycling rate has risen from around 3% to over 30%. This is important as it helps to keep our Council Tax down. Refurbishment has taken place in our sheltered housing establishments eg: West View had a new roof, fire doors and kitchens (I am still working on the lift!)
We are awaiting a developer for extra care housing on the Hare Hill Court Site.
For children and teenagers our out of school clubs continue to thrive and many young people enjoy the BMX track and skateboard facility in the park.
We look forward to the summer months - the Easter Fare at Victoria House and Honresfeld the traditional Easter Fair at the Lake, Rushbearing and strawberry teas - there is always plenty going on.
Our numerous voluntary groups and charities have my full support eg: The many “friends” groups in Littleborough and at the libraries.
I am a practicing Christian, a regular church goer and believe in the value of every individual, regardless of their status or creed.
I hope I can count on your support in the next election on May 5th.
