Local Election 2008

Javed Iqbal

Javed Iqbal

Independent
Milkstone & Deeplish Ward

Address
3 Sussex Street
Rochdale
OL11 1EL

On 1 May I will be standing to give the people of Milkstone and Deeplish an opportunity to vote for an independent voice that will put their concerns first.

I live in the ward with my wife and three children on Sussex Street. As a local businessman I am well known in my community and want to see local services protected and improved.

I share the frustration of the residents in my ward and want to give them an alternative to grubby party politics so the area can be presented by someone who cares about it.

As a former member of The Liberal Democrats I am standing to remind voters of their failings and speak out against the deep moral decay that has left this party incapable of delivering for my ward and Rochdale.

It’s time that our area was properly represented on the council, all residents have the right to be heard and concerns acted on. There is much work still to be done to provide more support and better services for the elderly. Other priorities of mine will be to tackle drugs use in the area, create better youth facilities and campaign relentlessly to get more grants for the ward.

If you want no change in the decline of our area then vote other parties, but if you want action and a councillor that listens to you; someone who is prepared to stand up for you the voter, and get things done, then please give me your vote.
