I am born and bred in Heywood. I was educated locally and served as a fireman here for over 30 years. I’ve got Heywood running through my veins.
Did you ever wonder why at local election time, all some people talk about is the Government, not the local issues that matter to local people?
Whatever’s going on nationally, the Lib Dem team here in Heywood North has been working hard for you - and we always will.
In the last year, we’ve knocked on hundreds of doors and had face-to-face conversations with hundreds of local people and held regular advice surgeries.
We’ve listened to what Heywood North people have to say and fought for things you really care about, for instance:
- Campaigning to re-open Peel Lane Tip after Labour closed it last year.
- Battled for alley-gate schemes - some of these successes include: Peel Street, Barley Hall Street, Tong Street, Ryder Street, Wild Street, Promenade Street, Mount Street, King Street and hopefully Starkey Street which is in the pipeline at the moment.
- Tackling anti- social behaviour, littering and fly tipping (especially since Labour closed our local tip).
- Fighting plans to wipe Heywood off the political map.
The Lib Dem FOCUS team has been working hard for local people for years. We work harder than anyone else to campaign for the things you care about on the Council and keep in touch with regular FOCUS leaflets so you know exactly what we’re doing, and can tell us what you think.
No wonder all the other parties want to talk about national politics. They know they can’t match our record in Heywood North and how much people value the work we do.
Show them how much you care. Heywood North doesn’t need someone who just talks politics and doesn’t deliver - it needs a hard working local councillor.
