Local Election 2014

Peter Rush

Peter Rush

Liberal Democrat Party
North Heywood Ward

It has been my honour, privilege and pleasure to be your ward Councillor over the last 8 years. Heywood has been very good to me, I feel it is my duty to give something back to a community that has given me so much.

Working for the residents of Heywood North, I have always strived to put you and our town FIRST in every action and decision I have made as your Councillor.

During my time as North ward councillor, I have helped thousands of residents and it gives me great pleasure to say that in the vast majority of cases, I have managed to achieve positive results on your behalf.

Just a few of the high profile examples of my work on your behalf are:

  • Installation of alley gates all around the ward, as a result Heywood homes are among the most secure in the whole Borough.
  • Improving the safety of our roads – with the installation of a pedestrian crossing at Queens Park Road; 20mph signs and traffic controls outside our local schools such as at St Michael’s and St Luke’s; and 30mph control signs on Rochdale Road East the entrance to the town.
  • Persistently making my feelings known to Labour’s Crime & Police Commissioner over his terrible decision to transfer policing from our LOCAL police station to Middleton.

In addition, I have, and continue to campaign relentlessly to reinstate our local tip at Peel lane and thereby put an end to the blight of endless fly tipping, which costs YOU the Heywood tax payers tens of thousands of pounds a year to deal with.

I cannot stress enough, how important your vote is. Every election in North Heywood is a close finish and this years will be no different. Don’t leave it to your neighbours, your vote is vital if I am to be successful and continue to work and campaign on your behalf.
