Local Election 2015

Ed Aadahl

Ed Aadahl

UK Independence Party
Littleborough Lakeside Ward

I am pleased to accept the UKIP nomination to stand again in our Littleborough and Lakeside ward. I have lived in Smithy Bridge for 34 years, I am married with three children, all educated locally.

My working life has been spent in primary education as a teacher and headteacher.

I am standing for election because I have the time, commitment and energy to represent the interests of our community.

If elected I promise to do my very best for everyone in our Littleborough and Lakeside ward.

My priorities, it’s all about people.

Care for the elderly - How well we treat and look after older people is a measure of a civilised society.

Managing voluntary and professional care is a priority and I welcome the initiative to give Greater Manchester devolved funding for Health and Social care and the opportunity it affords for comprehensive care.

Young people –far too many still out of work – thorough careers advice and access to apprenticeship schemes. Local business and shops - deserve our support.

I will not support any developments which harm their interests. Building on green belt/green-field sites – I am pleased to say that this is not a popular idea in Smithy Bridge and Littleborough.

I have got this message loud and clear, our countryside needs protecting. Local libraries – they always seem under threat but I believe they are an essential resource for our local community.

Living local, being available responsive to individual and community needs.
