Bamford-Fieldhouse Under 15s Cricket Team

Friarmere (Home)

Monday July 25th 2011

Bamford-Fieldhouse 117 all out  -  Friarmere 95 innings closed (Home)

With both teams struggling to raise a full compliment of players, Bamford were a little fortunate to win this match when Friarmere’s reply was brought to a close as J. White reached his fifty and was forced to retire leaving the last man stranded.

Friarmere had started the game well taking three quick Bamford wickets before Callum Belfield (17) and Adam Ahmed (13) dug in and got the innings back on track. Ben Durrant then speeded things up, scoring 24 off 12 balls and breaking some of the pavilion guttering with a well struck six. J. White was the pick of the visiting bowlers taking 3 for 14.

In the end, 115 all out looked a good score and things looked even better for the home when Joe Smith-Butler picked up two LBWs with his first two balls. When Ahmed Nawaz took the third wicket at 11, Friarmere looked doomed but S. Ireland and White had other ideas. After batting carefully against the seam bowlers White took his chance against the spinners and hit three 6s and four 4s in his 51. White was well supported by Harrison-Brown who got a quickfire 12 before he was bowled by Ahmed and in the end, last man Dixon was left on 2 not out.
