Last Meeting
On 10 January John Searle, a Senior Project Officer with Rochdale Development Agency, came to talk to club members about the proposed new development of the Rochdale Town Centre.
Using visual aids and the latest Development Agency leaflets, John was able to describe and demonstrate the sighting of the new Bus Station and the plans for the regeneration of the town centre east area.
In a lively discussion club members contributed their own thoughts on the plans and also offered a few suggestions of their own (some more serious than others).
The evening generated a lot of interest and the club will be devoting a part of our Action Evening on 28 March to a further discussion after which further feedback will be sent to the Rochdale Development Agency.
Visitors are welcome to all our meetings so f you want to hear more and have your own say then do come alone.
Next Meeting
On Wednesday 24 January Terry Morris, an RHS medal winner and judge will be coming to speak to the club about the preparation that goes on behind the scenes at the big flower shows.
Terry, who is now a lecturer in horticulture, has had 20 years as a top exhibitor and won major awards at all the important shows.
The meeting will start at 8.00pm with tea/coffee available from 7.30pm.
