SUCCESSFUL SEASON FOR CASTLETON BILLIARDS
With 2 teams in the Rochdale league and 1 in Bury league Castleton has had a very successful season.
Captain of Bury team Elvet Smith led his side of Terry Jump Alastair Hardman Bill Schofield to 3rd in Main league table but winner of the team knockout.On a personal level Elvet also played for Wales in the World billiards Championship held in Landywood in October.
The Castleton A team also won the Rochdale league captained by Neal Sharrocks backed up by John Ingham Elvet Bill and Frank and Stan Gac.Frank and Stan are new to Billiards but made big strides and won the Doubles knockout competition.John also won the off handicap Cup comp and Elvet was runner up in the Scratch knockout won by Paul Mather who has been ranked in the top 30 in the world so no disgrace!
A great Presentation evening at Cronkeyshaw social club lhad3 finals, a large buffet, Chair of the league April Brown's birthday treat , and lots of awards and cups to winners and runners up!Thank you to Cronkeyshaw team and manager for organising a super night of celebration!
