Fringe benefits for Miss Rochdale fashion model
What does a model do when she is hired to look good on the catwalk in beautiful lingerie and nightwear, from Chantilly of Cheetham Street, at the Miss Rochdale event fashion show on Friday?
Cassie McDowell knew her first port of call and immediately made a booking at Gregory Couzens hair salon on The Walk.
Ms McDowell’s long black tresses had become a little shapeless and she had already decided to be more adventurous when she sat down to discuss with Mr Couzens how he would transform her image.
Decisions made, first off were subtle highlights before a mix of two dark brunette colours, all expertly applied by Jennifer Warrington.
Hair wash and head massage followed and then it was time for Mr Couzens to get to work with his scissors. Ms McDowell sat patiently, though it has to be said with a certain degree of trepidation on her face when she saw the eight or so inches of hair chopped off by Mr Couzens to create her new fringe!
Cut finished it was time for styling and good old fashioned ‘big’ curlers and under the heated dryer.
A few minor tweaks and four hours after she entered the salon Ms McDowell had a magnificent mane of luxuriant hair that framed her attractive facial features beautifully.
A delighted Ms McDowell said: “Greg is such a talented hairdresser, as soon as I was booked for the Miss Rochdale fashion show I knew he would help me to look my best, but the look he has given me is beyond my expectations, I am thrilled, absolutely thrilled.”
Mr Couzens said: “A strong geometric fringe creates an illusion of having much thicker hair and draws your attention to Cassie's beautiful eyes; tumbling sexy curls were created with large rollers for added volume.
“Subtle chestnut highlights and a vegetable based colour give a gorgeous shine.
"The products used are from my own range, Couzens Volume Shampoo (specifically for fine hair) and Couzens Light Protection Spray (combats static electricity).”
