House Groups
The VICARAGE House Group
This is our newest group and it is made up of people from all three parishes in the United Benefice. The idea of the group is to start from the beginning, learning about the basics of the faith, and so it is a group which should appeal to anyone who has questions to ask. There is always so much more to find out, whether we’re new to the faith, or we’ve been Christians a long time.
If you’ve never been to a group before, this is an ideal place to start. If you are unsure about whether or not this kind of thing is for you, then just come along to a meeting to help to make up your mind. You’ll be very welcome.
The group meets every other Tuesday at the Vicarage, 4 Stansfield Hall, but from April to June, the group will include those adults considering Confirmation this year and so will be meeting weekly.
If you would like to know more about the group, then speak to any of the members, or ring John on 01706 378055.
The TUESDAY House Group
The Tuesday House Group meets weekly in the home of two of its members. We like to think that we are treading in the footsteps of the first Christian church who, as well as attending the temple regularly, met together in their homes to worship God, pray, study God’s word and minister to one another’s needs.
The Tuesday Group has been steadily growing over a number of years now. Our activities usually centre on the methodical study of a particular book of the Bible, but sometimes we will pick a topic which involves reference to various part of the Bible. The second part of the evening is devoted to prayer, which is often prompted by what we have been reading, but we also bring to God our own needs and those of people known to us. Over the years we have seen many prayers answered and so are assured of God’s presence with us through the power of the Holy Spirit.
On the first Tuesday of each month we meet in church at 7.30 pm for prayer. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Occasionally we have a break from study to enjoy a social evening when we may invite others who would not normally attend.
Although most of us meet on a regular basis, there is no reason why someone should not come for one meeting to see if it suits them. All are welcome.

The THURSDAY House Group
Thursday afternoons have become a very great blessing for many of us as we have thought about ways in which we can deepen our relationship with God and each other.
If you would like to join us, we meet each Thursday at 12.30 pm for a light lunch and fellowship before starting our study time at 1.15 pm.
Although we are serious about growing in our individual walk with God, we also value our fellowship and the way we are growing together in love, learning to serve God together. Laughing together is also a feature of our meetings.
If you are interested in finding out more please speak to Mag or any of the members of the Thursday group, or just come along for a taster session.
