Disability charity Leonard Cheshire is looking for volunteers to join its service in Middleton. As the largest provider of care for people with disabilities in the country, we currently support over 21,000 people in the UK alone. Volunteers are needed to enhance the work done by dedicated support staff and by dedicating the precious gift of time you could make a real difference to someones day. Enabling volunteers will assist a person with a disability to carry out their hobbies or try things they have always wanted. This can include assisting them to the shops or other leisure activties, assisting them in their own homes to bake or knit, or generally act as a befriender to them, all equally helping to reduce the risk of social iscolation.
Volunteering with Leonard Cheshire is flexible to meet your needs along with the service user and can be a little as 2 hours a week. Get in touch for an informal chat about voluntary positions suited to you and make the best, most rewarding resolution you've ever made.
