On Track Dog Training School

Intro

The school was set up in 2000 in Smallbridge, Rochdale by its founder, Cath Phillips with the aim of bringing a reward-based method of training to local dog owners.  It was hoped that the training would be enjoyable for both owner and dog leading to a high standard of achievement.

From its humble beginnings the school has grown considerably and now has a purpose built training area. Classes include a Beginner Class, four Intermediate Classes and an Advanced Class. In addition there is an Agility Group, a Working Trial Group and a Behavioural Clinic. The school has listed status with the Kennel Club and runs the KC Good Citizen Award Scheme.

In 2005 Cath helped to develop the Greater Manchester Puppy Character Test and later the same year was asked to run the Puppy Walker Training Scheme which now runs from the On Track Training Ground and includes students from the school once they achieved a certain level.

New members are always welcome. The school prides itself on creating a friendly environment for people to share the pleasures of dog ownership with other like-minded people. No matter how inexperienced owners are there will always be experienced people on hand to help with training.
