Intro

1. Who is eligible to apply?

Applicants for grants should either:

a) Reside in the area of the former Rochdale County Borough areas; or
b) Attend a school in the area; or
c) Have attended a school in the area prior to the making of an application for assistance.

NOTE: There is no age limit for applicants.

2. What Grants are available for

Grants may be given for any purpose which promotes the education and development of the applicant, including social and physical training. In particular, monies may be given for the following purposes:

a) Scholarships, bursaries, grants or maintenance allowances tenable at any school, University, College of Education or other institution of further or higher (including professional and technical) education approved by the Trustees;
b) Scholarships or maintenance allowances to enable such applicants to travel, whether in the United Kingdom or abroad, to pursue their education;
c) To provide financial assistance, outfits, clothing, tools, instruments or books to enable applicants, on leaving school, University or other educational establishment, to prepare for, or to assist their entry into a profession, trade or calling;
d) To enable applicants to pursue a course of study or training connected with the textile industry;
e) To enable applicants to study music;
f) To enable applicants to pursue a course of study in either the French or German language in an institution of further or higher education.
