Kendal Holiday 2018

Holiday to Kendal  -  Mon19th to 23rd of March 2018

The County Hotel is an historic former coaching inn situated in the centre of town, just minutes from the busy High Street.

We have 4 nights dinner and breakfast with return coach travle and full liggage handling.

Here you can look forward to a warm welcome from our General Manager and staff together with friendly service and comfortable accommodation. When it comes to food you will not be disappointed. Start each day with a hearty breakfast, and in the evening look forward to a mouth-watering dinner menu guaranteed to satisfy the healthiest of holiday appetites.

The hotel features a charming dining room and a comfortable lounge, complete with a sprung dance floor and a well-stocked bar. All 37 bedrooms are en-suite and feature television and tea and coffee making facilities.

Entertainment is regularly featured and a lift serves all floors

The Hotel is overlooked by the imposing ruins of its Norman Castle, the market town of Kendal is the birthplace of Henry VIII’s sixth and final wife Catherine Parr. Ancient Kendal is the oldest and most important of the Southern Lakeland communities. Here the clear River Kent winds its way through the town and hillside. Sheep farmers and tourists rub shoulders along the narrow old streets and picturesque yards.

There are three full day excursions.

1) Full day visiting Bowness, Hawkshead and Lakeside with oppotunity of a Steamer cruse on Lake Windermere.

2) Full day visiting the home village of Willian Wordworth, Grasmere. Then passing Thirmere on the way to Keswick. In the afternoon we travle to Ullswater and travle the breathtaking Kirkstone Pass.

3) Full day visiting Appleby-in-Westmorland and an opportunity to visit the visitor’s centre "Rheged" which showcases the region’s history.
