Introduction - Come and join us
We are inviting applications from new players wishing to join the orchestra.
We are a group of young musicians aged 6 to 18 who play to a high standard with weekly rehearsals taking place during term time at the the Gracie Fields Theatre, Hudsons Walk, Rochdale
Rochdale Youth Orchestra with musical director Sue Verity rehearse on Saturday mornings and receive coaching from tutors from the Royal Northern College of Music and other experts. Our repertoire includes well-known classical music and popular tunes including songs from the shows such as Abba. We invite young musicians who play string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments to join us. If you play an orchestral instrument we would love to hear from you.
Rehearsals are on Saturday mornings 10.15am-11.45am (term time)
Rochdale Youth Orchestra Jazz Ensemble is directed by Chris Jolly who arranges all the music to suit the group.
Rehearsals for the RYO Jazz Ensemble are each Friday during term time from 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Fees for both groups are £30 per term. The first three rehearsals are FREE. If paying fees are difficult, grants may be available.
RYO is a registered charity run for the benefit of Rochdale youth by a small management committee of parents and friends.
Parents and friends: we require new committee members. No musical knowledge is required just enthusiasm! If you are interested in joining us in please contact Sue on 01706 631942 or email: sueverity@sky.com
