The Church Choir
St Barnabas Church has a long history of church music, having organists and a choir from the beginning. Due to declining numbers in the 1990s however, an attempt was made to recruit new members. In 1998 the choir was reformed by the then organist and choirmaster and sings at services, weddings, funerals, and occasionally at fundraising concerts.
We welcome new members of any age and ability, and do not hold auditions. The only requirement is a love of singing.
Due to the retirement of the choirmaster we are currently looking for a replacement and would welcome enquiries from suitably qualified or experienced people. Although we have a regular organist we would also welcome enquiries from organists who are able to stand in to cover those times when she is unavailable.
Please contact the vicarage or the church wardens if you are interested.
Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings in church at 7.30pm.
