Mission Statement
'The Sanctuary Trust is a practical expression of God's love, providing support and encouragement for people who are homeless or seeking to take control of their lives after drug, alcohol or other, homeless-related problems.'
We run a 13-bedded Men's hostel on Tweedale Street and have opened an overnight shelter for 16 and 17 year olds called the Sanctuary Night Stop located in Deeplish.
Many young people in the borough of Rochdale are unable, for a variety of
reasons, to engage with, or live as part of their family. The repercussions, for a lot of young people are serious. Being homeless at a young age is detrimental to future abilities to form trusting relationships, develop life skills or have their personal trauma addressed. Cycles of behavior are set in place; it is essential to focus on the casualties in order to break the cycle
