Registered Manager (Children's Service)

At Lifetime Opportunities we provide high quality residential care to children and young people with learning disabilities and autism. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with strategic vision to join our growing team.

In the role of Registered Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running and management of our Ofsted regulated residential provisions. You will ensure that the homes meet the standards and expectations of their Statement of Purpose and are fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements. It is the responsibility of the Registered Manager to safeguard and promote the welfare of all the young people we support and achieve the best outcomes for them. You will work in the homes and lead by example to maintain a competent, motivated and confident staff team offering guidance and support to staff at all levels.

  • The role is for 39 hours per week (plus on call duties as part of the management team)
  • The role will include some shift work (wknds/ lates/ earlies/ days/ sleeps) to meet the needs of the service and to carry out full duties of the role
  • The role involves working at any of our homes across the Rochdale, Rossendale and Oldham areas.

Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • A full UK driving license
  • At least 2 years’ experience (within the last 5 years) relevant to the residential care of children
  • At least 1 years’ experience supervising and managing staff in a care role
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviours
  • A good understanding of relevant legislation, Children's Homes Regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework
  • Ability to successfully complete the Ofsted registration process
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain a high standard of quality control
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • IT skills (use of word processing, spreadsheet and email software packages)
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude and a flexible approach
  • Passionate about caring for children and young people
