'There But Not There' - A Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving

Details:

The Friends of St Edmund’s and The Churches Conservation Trust invite you to join us at St. Edmund’s Church for a special service of Remembrance and Dedication of our WW1 Roll of Honour. With the names of the fallen of the parish of St. Edmund’s Falinge added to a newly created Roll of of Honour, this will be blessed and unveiled by the Bishop Of Manchester.

With the Greater Manchester Police Symphonic Wind Band providing music for the occasion and the Choir of Rochdale Cantare Ladies Choir supporting the service.

Footlights Theatre and their thought provoking production will also be showcased, telling the story of WW1.

Please join us on what will be an important occasion in St. Edmund’s history. All are welcome but please come early, service is scheduled to start at 3pm prompt with doors opening at 2pm, all to be seated by 2.30pm.

Light refreshments will be served post service along with the opertunity to look at our display of remembrance and the centenary of WW1.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them."
