Coordinated by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), with support from many local walking groups and charities, Greater Manchester Walking Week aims to showcase all that the region has to offer on foot. The event’s calendar features many expert-led walks, catering to a variety of interests and themes for all ages and abilities.

Details of this walk:

Organised by Saddleworth Pedestrians. From Norden, the walk goes past Greenbooth Reservoir over to Rooley Moor Road, up to Scout moore, then down to Ashworth Reservoir to Rochdale Way leading back to the start.

Distance = 9 miles
Difficulty = Moderate
Public transport = Buses 162, 442, 872 and 880 nearby

Booking not required.

No matter whether you’re a stroller, roamer, shuffler, moocher or a marcher the Greater Manchester Walking Festival has something for you. Back bigger and better for the fifth year, it runs from Wednesday 1 to Friday 31 May, and offers guided walks exploring towns, cities, the countryside, canals, riversides and parks across Greater Manchester.

In 2019, the aim of the event is to encourage residents of Greater Manchester to rediscover their local area, reconnect with their friends and neighbours and to get out and about more.
