Details:

Lancashire Veterans Association invite everyone who supports the work of HM Forces and, of course, anyone who has actually served, to attend a Service of Remembrance in Heywood Gardens of Remembrance on Saturday 22 June 2019, 11.00am.

Since the end of World War II over 16,500 people have paid the ultimate price and thousands more have been wounded in mind and / or body. They and their families continue to suffer even today.

Many of the dead remain buried in 'foreign fields' following action in places like Aden, Borneo, Dohar, Far East, Korea, Middle East etc so their families cannot even have the solace of visiting their graves.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of Operation Banner (14 AUGUST 1969 - 31 JULY 2007 1,441 DIED/KILLED, 6,166 W0UNDED) and 52nd anniversary of the ambush 20 JUNE 1967 and killing in Aden of twenty-two British troops.

We hope that as many people as possible will join with us in this event to show Veterans and their families that we care and will always remember their sacrifices in the cause of peace.

Entry fee: Free
