Make Music Day UK is coming to Rochdale

An evening of free live music is on offer in Rochdale this week as part of an international celebration of music.

On Friday 21 June, Make Music Day returns, with events in four venues in Rochdale are taking part, with over eight hours of live music being performed from acts ranging from singer/songwriters to a seven piece 2-Tone and reggae band.

Events are open to all with everyone welcome.

  • 6pm to 7pm The Baum on Toad Lane hosts an acoustic performance by talented solo artist James Konnavov. He’ll be performing a mix of his own original material as well as a few classic covers.
     
  • 9.30pm to 11.45pm at the Vicolo Del Vino you can see musician ‘Just Phil’ from 9.30pm to 11.45pm.
     
  • 10.45pm until 1.45am visit Greater Manchester’s best pub – The Flying Horse Hotel are promising seriously fun live entertainment from little mariachi band Juan Direction as well as popular local Irish covers band The Scattering.
     
  • From 10 pm at The Empire on Packer Street the line-up includes Special Brew MCR – a seven-piece band with full brass section, playing Ska, 2-Tone and reggae, with all the big hits from the likes of Madness, The Specials, The Beat, Bad Manners and Bob Marley. Acoustic guitarist and singer Meg Whittaker from Littleborough will be performing live.

The events to celebrate Make Music Day are supported by Rochdale Town Centre Management.
