Details:

Rochdale’s first Children’s Literature Festival.  Not only will there be a plethora of special guests, reading activities and performances, we will also be welcoming acclaimed authors, Michael Rosen and Frank Cotrell Boyce.

Storytellers and Poets

  • Richard O’Neill - Yan Tan Tethera That Poetry Bloke
  • Kathy Oakley - Calvert and Ned the Dog

Puppetry

  • Lempen Puppet Theatre Company
  • Busy Lizzy (Walkabout puppet theatre)

Information stalls

Reading for pleasure in schools (run by Lowerplace, St Mary’s Holy Family, St Patrick’s and Broadfield primary schools)

Workshops

  • Star Tree Studio art workshops
  • Rapping workshops
  • Origami workshops

Other fun activities

  • Book tombola
  • Name the Bear Hunt teddy
  • Hook-a-book
  • Willy Wonka’s sweet stall
  • Photo frame competition
