OVO Energy Tour of Britain passing through Rochdale

For the first time in 9 years, The Tour Of Britain returns to Rochdale, as Greater Manchester hosts the final stage of the UK's premier professional cycling event featuring many of the world's top riders. It will arrive in Rochdale at approximately midday.

Spectators will be welcome and family friendly events will be staged across the route and around Rochdale Town Hall (10am - 1pm).

Spectators are invited to Norden Jubilee Park where they can view the riders going past. Flags will be handed out and we will be cheering as the riders go past (organised by Rochdale Borough Council and Rochdale in Bloom).

Route:

B6194 New Broad Lane, B6194 Broad Lane/Turf Hill Road, A671 Oldham Road, Wood Street, A671 Molesworth Street, A671 John Street, A58, Hunters Lane, Newgate, The Esplanade, Dane Street, A6060, A680 Edenfield Road.

The route through Rochdale will see the cyclists enter the borough at Burnedge from High Crompton on Broad Lane and then down Oldham Road, turning right at the central retail park onto Wood Street, Molesworth Street and up John Street.

The route then goes left onto St Mary's Gate and into the town centre along Newgate and past Rochdale town hall. From there the tour will head along Dane Street (past Asda) and Mellor Street onto Edenfield Road and through Norden towards Edenfield.
