We’re celebrating some page to screen classics with our Page to Screen Community Cinema! See classic works from novels, comic books and more come to life on the silver screen of Rochdale Sixth Form College Theatre.

Saturday 19 October - Mrs Doubtfire
1.45pm (running time 2 hours)

Rated 12A. Based on the classic book, Madame Doubtfire, by Rochdale Literature & Ideas Festival guest and celebrated children’s writer, Anne Fine, this rip-roaring comedy about a father seeking to take care of his children by any means necessary is a guaranteed hit. Starring Robin Williams and Pierce Brosnan.

This screening will immediately follow Anne Fine’s Book Club.

Cost is £4 or free if you are attending the Anne Fine’s Book Club Event beforehand. 

Saturday 19 October - Mystery Marvel
6pm (running time varies depending on the film)

Who is your favourite Marvel superhero? Captain America? Iron Man? Thor? Spider-Man? Captain Marvel? OK, we know it’s impossible to choose a favourite, so we’ve taken the hard part out for you. Come along to Mystery Marvel, where nobody will know which superhero movie will be playing until the projector starts rolling!

Cost is £5.

Sunday 20 October - Jurassic Park
6.30pm (running time 2 hours)

Rated PG. In celebration of the arrival of Dippy the Dinosaur in Rochdale next year, we are proud to present a special screening of Steven Spielberg and Michael Crichton’s classic movie, Jurassic Park. Starring Richard Attenborough, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill and Laura Dern.

Cost is £5. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The festival box office is located at Touchstones Rochdale. Open Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm.
