Details:

Join us at Rochdale Town Hall for an exclusive performance of ‘A Different Story of Rochdale: Tales from the Town Hall’, the winning competition entry for our playwright competition for young people aged 14-25 in Rochdale.

The performance will take place in the town hall itself, and will be followed by a drinks reception where you can share your thoughts on the upcoming renovation and restoration of our iconic Town Hall.

You will get a chance to see some parts of the Town Hall you might not have seen before, and learn about the upcoming multi-million pound Heritage Lottery-funded renovations following the building’s closure in 2021.

Suitable for: Ages 14+

The festival box office is located at Touchstones Rochdale. Open Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm.

Rochdale Literature & Ideas Festival is aimed at celebrating and promoting the Maskew Collection of classic literature and philosophy at Rochdale Central Library, encouraging people to engage with books and ideas. Rochdale couple, Annie and Frank Maskew, met in Rochdale Library in the 1950s and shared a passion for reading and thinking. They left a sum of money to be used on resources and events related to literature and philosophy to ensure classic works are available for future generations.

Entry fee: Free, but booking is required
