Every year in September, England’s largest voluntary cultural event returns as a celebration of local and national heritage. Co-ordinated nationally by the Heritage Open Days National Partnership and locally by Link4Life, Rochdale takes part by opening the doors to various historic buildings throughout the borough that are usually closed to the public or charge an entrance fee.

Local buildings full of history will be open and free to explore, many of which include differing age, style and function across the borough all with fascinating guided walks, tours and talks.

This heritage centre is based in the original station buildings on the platform of Littleborough Station.

Hosted by Littleborough Archaeological and Historical Society, the history centre is holding an ongoing exhibition on the fallen soldiers from Littleborough during WWI. There is an extensive archive with numerous photographs and research facilities too.

Opening Times:

  • Saturday 21 September: 1100 - 1600
  • Sunday 22 September: 1200 - 1500

No booking required.

Entry fee: Free
