Described by The British Theatre Guide as ‘Horrible Histories for grown-ups’, Car Park King is an original comedy play about one of the most controversial Kings of England, Richard III. Richard is awoken from his car park tomb to do battle with witches, human birds, flamboyant French kings, no nonsense policemen and lizards. His journey won’t be easy... but it will be entertaining!

James Beglin, Kris W Laudrum and writer-actor Jessica McDonagh bring to life a plethora of comical characters complete with crazy wigs and regional accents. Expect to see all the key players in the War of the Roses - Edward IV, Henry Tudor, Elizabeth Woodville - but also some more surreal additions, such as a talking mushroom, a takeaway delivery man and Richard’s horse (named Horsey).

It’s a farcical night which has audiences witnessing Richard’s own version of his past misdemeanors - a version where he is a put-upon victim, not an evil hunchback, failing in his fight against a witch’s curse and ends up buried under a car park.

Speaking ahead of the performance, Spot On’s Lyndsey Wilson said: “If you enjoy a drop of Monty Python, a dash of Blackadder and a sprinkle of Spike Milligan then you can expect a side-splitting, bizarre, unmissable comedy."

Entry fee: Tickets £8 / Concessions £7
