Details:

In 2020, UP are holding three half day training sessions - 14 January, 11 February and 3 March - of their Positive Relationships programme at 185 Drake Street, Rochdale.

The sessions are free of charge and enable participants to gain an insight of the programme and how it could benefit organisations, employees or workplaces. They will start at 10am and finish at 2pm, with lunch included.

UP is a community interest company set up to support WHAG (formerly Women's Housing Action Group) to reduce domestic abuse and homelessness by supporting workplaces, schools and communities to recognise and support positive and healthy relationships. From our base in Rochdale, we work across the whole of the North West and beyond.

The purpose of the sessions is for participants to ‘trial’ UP’s Positive Relationships training package. The sessions are based on healthy relationships / abuse, split into 3 modules: emotional, psychological and physical. The training provides education and support around creating and sustaining successful personal relationships.

By providing training and awareness raising, we want:

  • people to know what a healthy relationship should look like and be able to recognise the signs of abuse
  • to be able to equip employers to recognise when their staff might be victims of abuse, and know what action to take
  • health professionals to be able to recognise signs of abuse and know what to do
  • teachers to be able to support their students who may be experiencing domestic abuse in their homes, informing them what healthy relationships look like, recognising danger signs and the importance of consent.
