Pride in the Park

Details:

An afternoon filled with queer joy, family fun, performances and creative and wellbeing activities for LGBTQIA+ people. Expect music, drag, dance and more.

Claire Mooney

Claire Mooney is a singer-songwriter who has released several albums and her songs have received worldwide airplay.

12.40pm
The Sunday Boys

The Sunday Boys is open to anyone who sings with a low voice (such as tenor or bass) and wants to sing in an inclusive environment. They will be performing some acapella renditions of pop classics.

1.15pm
The Vegan Queens

Paul Burgess and Stuart Crowther are drag duo: The Vegan Queens. As part of Rochdale in Rainbows, the queens will be performing cabaret and show tunes.

2.30pm
Claire Mooney (Performing with Young People)

Claire Mooney will work with a group of young people to co-write and perform a song they have produced specially for Pride in the Park.

2.45pm
Open Mic Session

A chance for you to perform; this could be your own song, spoken word or dance.

4pm
Ghetto Fabulous

Ghetto Fabulous is an arts company whose main aim is to spread joy. Expect vogue, fierceness, and energy from Ghetto Fabulous through theatre, dance, and visual arts, they want to excite, entertain and bring the party.

Workshops and activities

Get involved in a range of creative and wellbeing workshops and activities on the day. From badge making and crafts to circus skills and yoga. All session are drop in and everyone is welcome.

Circus Skills
An inclusive free circus workshop for LGBTQIA+ teens & allies run by Skylight Circus Arts’, Circus Rainbow project.

Face Painting
It’s Pride, show us some colour!

Family Pride
For you and your little ones from 1pm–3pm hosted by Born to Be Wild Child.

Identity Portrait Workshop
Relax and make your own portrait to reflect your own or another identity with local artist Bushra Sultana.

Pronoun Badge Making
Pronouns are important, make your own beautiful badge and learn about how pronouns can have real impact with Cartwheel Arts.

Protest Sign Making
Pride started as a Protest and this year marks the 50th year since the first UK Pride. Get creative and make your mark.

Taster Yoga Sessions
Yoga is proven to improve mental health and wellbeing. Have a go at a free taster session throughout the day.

Vintage Worx
Hot and cold catering will be available to purchase on the day.
