11am - 3.30pm

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre
Baillie Street
Rochdale

DETAILS:

Shiver me timbers Rochdale! A giant pirate ship will be sailing into The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre this half-term as Captain Greybeard sets his anchor and invites courageous shoppers aboard his ship to hear tales of the Seven Seas.

On Saturday 27th May, a huge, mysterious pirate ship will be setting sail into The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre with its giant moving wheels, realistic rigging and gun ports for skulduggery! The Captain will be inviting children of all ages to climb aboard and indulge in intriguing tales from the high sea, told by the Captain himself. Storytelling sessions will take place in the giant pirate ship, located in the walkway near the Bailie Street entrance, on the hour, every hour, from 11am until 3:30pm. Captain Greybeard will also be posing for photographs as memorabilia for shoppers from the day.

Children are also encouraged to visit the FREE pirate themed craft workshop and transform into swashbuckling pirates themselves. They will be given the chance to create and personalise a pirate hat to suit them and a unique eye patch.

Debbie Hernon, Centre Manager, commented: "The Wheatsheaf can't wait for Captain Greybeard to sail into the Centre and tell some wonderful tales to our smaller shoppers. We hope they also take advantage of our Honesty Library where they can pick up a variety of stories after each session."
